What’s Your Birth Story, Mom?

Ashlei Pollock

My husband went to basic training when I was 37 weeks pregnant. I was due on March 20, 2012. The doctor said she would induce me on the 21st so my hubby could possibly make the birth. A week before I was scheduled to be induced I was told he would not be able to come.
On my due date I woke up with cramps. I assumed I just had to go to the bathroom. We went to Walmart and throughout the day I was having this pain. That night at 7pm o told my mom it was time. Contractions were never steady they were sporadic.

When I went in at 9pm the nurse claimed I wasn’t in labor but kept me since I was getting induced next morning. At about midnight she told me that I was in labor and could have an epidural. So I took it. At 7 the next morning I said I thought my water broke. I looked at the bed and my bag of water was sitting there not popped just came out. I had my daughter at 829am. Never had to get induced. I was able to text a picture to my husband right after. He finally met her 2 months later.
